WELCOME, TO A BETRANISHED NIBBLER!
Wait a second...who is that writing the Nibbler?!?!?
Wait, is it that same guy who does stuff like this?
Do we even know who that guy is?
Well anyway. Balack is here! And you're an aspiring Knight who wants to catch him!
(Or you're a Knight dishonorably banished from the Kingdom who frequents the taverns
and can't find a purpose for your life anymore, but in either case you want to catch him.)
So here's your bullet-point guide:
omg WHAT just happened?
"The tide suddenly rose and the entire cove was flooded with water! I was quickly washed up on the shore of the Jungle of Dread. I'm worried my bait may attract a swarm of hungry pigmy mice..."Yea...remember how you got those Dragon Embers? Well...I kinda didn't mention to you that you needed them because the cave periodically floods out (ever-burning lantern). Sorta like the Forbidden Grove, only opposite. Assuming you can avoid that, you have 8 mice to work with here that are attracted to your Vanilla Stilton cheese, and they're all Forgottens, so fetch your ABT. ABT?! Yes actually, these Forgottens are notably weak to the Forgotten trap, ABT (Larry said it himself!). Arcane & Shadow Traps are still viable though.
If you're at this point, then you probably have ABT equipped in the Cove, with Vengeful Vanilla Stilton cheese. Well don't stop. ABT is your best bet against Balack - just keep trying until you get him! (Note: this endeavor could take longer than the Silth. Side-effects may include: nausea, agitation, compulsion to post incorrectly-located complaints in the Tavern, and/or the involuntary poor decision to go broke buying superbrie for the endeavor thinking that for sure "it'll happen on the next batch".)

Uh-oh...

In case you haven't noticed, Cape Clawed is now selling an ANTIQUE LANTERN, for 94,000 gold no less. I know, just what you wanted, right? Seeing as how you already have a candle, at first glance it's about as useful as this giant bat -->
But what makes it as cool as that giant bat is that it holds a special flame, one which you get to light with Dragon Embers. As you may have guessed, all the mice in Dracano are now (occasionally) dropping Dragon Embers. So, grab your handy dandy Ice Maiden,

Hey wait! I don't have Ice Maiden!
You're a Knight without Ice Maiden? What have you been doing with your life?
Getting 60 runes is hard! Give me a break!
Ok fine. You'll be happy to know that you can use a tough physical trap, like CDB.
Yay!
You'll have more luck that way if you use something good, but you won't get any Dragons. I'd never do that since I plan on catching 496 Dragons. But that's just me.
That's OK I'm not that crazy!
Isn't giving up those Dragon attractions a little crazy?
Touché!

and bait some Inferno Havarti and get yourself 3 Dragon Embers. You'll be happy to know that any extra Dragon Embers you acquire can be smashed into fire salt.
Crafting: Lantern + 3 Dragon Embers = Balack's Lantern
Crafting: Hunter's Hammer + Dragon Ember = Fire Salt
Travel: Balack's Lantern --> Balack's Cove

- Step 2: Get The First New Type Of Cheese
Hey, I didn't say it was a chart that had anything to do with Mousehunt. You ask for chart I give you chart what more do you want?
So, grab your nearby Clockapult of Time and,
Hey wait! I don't have a Clock!
You're a Knight and you don't have a Clock? And surely you meant "You don't have a Clock, yet".
Yea yea yea I'm working on it, it takes time. I buy expensive superbrie too often. Shoot me.
*sigh* Whatever. It's just a normal shadow mouse. Use whatever you'd use to catch a Lycan.

hit up the JOD and catch yourself some Pigmies. They don't always drop beans, and they don't always come around. They're attracted to Gouda & Superbrie, or if you happen have an entire vault of superbrie lying around that you don't know what to do with (and you don't feel like lowering the price on the boards), you can actually use the Vanilla cheese itself to attract even more of them.
Mouse: Pigmy Swarm Mouse, ~5800 points, ~800 gold
Crafting: 15 Vanilla Beans + 15 Curds & Whey + 15 Salt + 15 Coconut Milk = 15 Vanilla Stilton cheese
Crafting: 1 Vanilla Bean + 15 Curds & Why + 15 Salt + 15 Coconut Milk + 15 Magic Essence = 15 Vanilla Stilton Cheese
Dang! Using SB gives you 15 times the cheese! That's unprecedented! You can talk about that here, if you like.

- Step 3: To The Cove!
omg WHAT just happened?"The tide suddenly rose and the entire cove was flooded with water! I was quickly washed up on the shore of the Jungle of Dread. I'm worried my bait may attract a swarm of hungry pigmy mice..."
Hey Wait!-
I'll have to stop you right there. If you don't have ABT, I doubt you have Clock or IM. In fact, you probably don't have a lot of things. Balack the Betrayed and his subordinates are a permanent addition to the game. They aren't leaving. So if you're asking for alternatives at this step, my guess is you aren't ready for Balack's Cove yet. It's OK. Not everybody was ready when the Silth came out either.

- Step 4: Getting The Second New Type Of Cheese
Eyeing those loot drops? You'll need them. One of each, along with another Vanilla Seed and some typical Cape Clawed ingredients to make Vengeful Vanilla Stilton cheese, the only cheese known to make Balack grant us his presence. So, that means it may take you a few trips back and forth from Balack's Cove & the JOD. Don't forget, you get washed out periodically.
Crafting: 1 Bottled-Up Rage + 1 Raisins Of Wrath + 1 Pinch Of Annoyance + 1 Vanilla Bean + 1 Curds & Whey + 1 Ionized Salt + 1 Coconut Milk = 1 Vengeful Vanilla Stilton cheese

WHOA WHOA KNIGHTS! HOLD ON! See that second recipe? Count the ingredients with me. Yea. There's 8 of them (go to your crafting page and count how many slots you have and get that tingling feeling off your back). About that. Man you haven't had to worry about crafting slots in months, have you? So. That 1-piecer is looking more attractive now isn't it, or even possibly waiting until you're a Lord/Lady *gasp*. Balack's no pushover. In any case, I hope you enjoy farming the Liches.
- Step 5: Defeating Balack
Mouse: Balack The Banished Mouse, ~??? points, ~??? gold
If you're at this point, then you probably have ABT equipped in the Cove, with Vengeful Vanilla Stilton cheese. Well don't stop. MouseHunter of the Day
"Its has been my life's dream ever since read Tuesday's Nibbler to be featured in the Nibbler."
Name: Dusty Hull
Rank: Knight (46.6%)
http://apps.facebook.com/mousehunt/hunterprofile.php?snuid=534356394
1. If you were a mouse, what type would you be and what would you do to escape the traps set out for you?
Um...Rockstar or chemist. Either is good with me. If I were the Rockstar, I'd escape by using one of my many look-a-like decoys that I use to distract fans. As for chemist, I'd through white phosphorus at the trap and run like hell.
2. How much cheese do you eat in a day? Which MH cheese are you most likely to eat in real life? Would you ever consider crafting cheese at home?
A fair amount (I love monterey jack). Um, as for irl, I'd go for either marble or rb (I want super powers, dangit). Um... sure. Rumble Fondue.
3. Have you skipped anything important just to sound the horn (ie school, work, sleep)? Did you enjoy it?
Yes. very yes. since I started in august, I've probably lost about 300 hours of sleep just staying up to sound the horn... I do enjoy it. I am Dusty Hull, a knight, and I am addicted to MouseHunt.
4. Which mouse would you most like to meet? (Assuming the mice could talk, of course.) What questions would you ask that mouse in an interview?
Captain Mouse. Ask him if he knows a guy named Morgan and get his ideas on the whole pirates vs. ninjas debate. And as a mouse, what he plans to do to avoid death in the great Longcat vs. Tacgnol battle
5. When was the last time you caught a mouse in real life?
Um... I was like 7, and learned that Surge (the super sugarized soda) will attact some house mice, make the spastic, and cause them to apparently have a heart attack... (no wonder that soda was banned)
6. What is your favorite trap in the game and why?
Chillbot. Its awesome, and shiny. SHINY!!! oh and i like Kraken and magma. cause it's like a calamari trap.
7. Do you think you could beat an Aged Mouse at chess?
Heck yeah! I didn't become president of Chess Club by just eating doritos. I have mad skillz
8. What was the last occasion where you caught a rare or difficult mouse with a ridiculously low amount of cheese?
Um... I stockpiled Spicy havarti and got a huge lucky streak with magma carriers (like 14 in a row with no ftc or fta). Does that count?
9. What has been the worst decision of your MouseHunt career, in hindsight?
Not keeping the 2010 blastoff. I sold it to get gold for chillbot (I had a large stash of sb+ i could have used)
10. If the Ornament Mouse, Bottled Mouse, and Lambent Crystal Mouse were having a fight, who would win and why?
Lambent. Cause one day at the tavern, the ornament wouldn't stop making a ringing sound annoyed the bottled who was a bit well.. drunk, and he smashed his bottle over the ornament, shattering both and the shrapnel would accidentaly fatally injury both. Thus leaving the Lambent still drinking Cherry Coke and playing darts. Cause we all know that the Lambent loves darts... just keep it away from skeeball... yikes.

The Forum Enrichment Center (An ongoing Nibbler "contest" for everyone!)
This contest is very straightforward. The Nibbler likes it when the forums are a-hoppin' with threads that are a-rockin'. So we're going to PAY people who help bring the goodness to the forums. Yep, it's true! Here's how it works:1) You notice a really entertaining, informative, or overall appealing thread (or post) somewhere on the forum.
2) You copy the link for that awesome thread (or post).
3) You paste that link into the most recent Nibbler comments thread.
4) You say why you liked that thread (or post).
That's all we need from you! Then we:1) Choose our very favorite thread (or post) from the ones you've submitted.
2) Feature it prominently in our next Nibbler edition as the THREAD OF THE DAY.
3) PAY UP! We'll give the author of that thread (or post) 50,000 gold, for whatever purposes.
4) And, once a week, we'll give a random nominator for the past week 50,000 gold also.
There is no limit to how many times you can submit, or be the one submitted. But you CANNOT SUBMIT YOUR OWN THREAD (OR POST)! This is not a popularity contest... And besides, the best Nibbler mentions are the unexpected ones!SECTION 4
