A contest to ... hunt ... ... mice? So we're not training to be pokemon masters?
Clare Moger has a comp running at the moment to see who can get the most species of mice in a single log and looks to be quite a decent contest.
1st prize: 2 million gold & 250 SB+
2nd prize: 1 million gold & 100 SB+
3rd prize: 500,000 gold & 50 SB+.
The rules:
1. To win you need to get the highest number of different mouse breeds in one journal summary of 1 day & 12 hours between 3rd and 24th April.
2. If your journal summary is longer than 1 day 12 hours, the mice caught during the excess time will be deducted. If it’s not possible for us to verify what they are from your journal, one mouse breed will be deducted for every additional hour (since longer summaries are usually due to hourly trapchecks).
3. You can try as many times as you want to.
4. If more than one person gets the same highest total, the winner is whoever got it first.
5. To get your total accepted, post a copy of your journal summary and a link to it on this thread as soon as you get it (and at the latest before it disappears from your journal). One of our modifiers will then verify it.
6. Please only post your summary if your total mouse breeds will put you into the current top 3 (we’ll keep summarizing the top 3 totals, so check the end of the thread before posting). But feel free to post comments about the comp and your attempts.
7. The minimum number of breeds in one journal summary to start this off is 50.
So if you think you've got what it takes to speed through the areas and win some cold hard cash, head over to her thread here
Quote of the Day
Rightfully belongs to Bob Drake for this stunner "this is wonderful, the clank of your glass balls, the light twinkling on the blades hidden in my tiara, the smoke rising from the antique furnishings as they combust when we get near....too divine!" Don't quite understand? Read the whole story here in the Grand Masked Ball thread
So far, so good, and don't forget to sound the horn!

There is no mousehunter of the day today ... the claw machine we use to pluck them from the tavern has jammed again. Sorry folks

A very Nibblery selection of always-useful links
Over time, we hope to expand this section to include a lot of links that would be useful to hunters of all shapes and stripes. Pretty soon, the standard shrug-off reply to forum questions won't be "Check the Wiki", it'll be "Check the Nibbler"!
If you've got a link that you think is missing, then be sure to let us know.
The Nibbler remains a wholly independent MouseHunt daily news e-publication. Throughout the day, our reporters scour through all the discussion boards, as we are dedicated to bringing the noteworthy news, highlights and gossip of the day to you, the hunters.
