What's Coming this Month
Posted by Dave Vanderburg on Thursday, April 1, 2010
Hey there, MouseHunters!
New stuff will be coming your way soon, and so we wanted to share some of the awesome new features that you can expect this month!
Today, we have a sneak peek at two new areas that will be coming out shortly. Each area will have tons of mice, and lots of new things to do!
First, get your horse and plow and mosey on down to Gnawville, the King's own farming grounds, full of beloved vegetable mice such as the Carrot mouse, Cabbage mouse, the Spud mouse and of course, our old friend Cow, who will frequently get lost and moo for help from your friends page. While hunting in this area, the Hunter's Horn will be replaced by the Harvester Horn, for extra farm-time fun!
Some (very) observant MouseHunters might have noticed that our second new area has been visible on the map for a few months now. Just northwest of the Lagoon lies the Albino Plains, an area with very unique properties. This area will be filled with all new mice and traps, and the mysterious new power type: Invisible.
Here are some spoiler images!

Along with all of the cool new areas we’re adding to MouseHunt, this month will also introduce handy new features such as the Omni-trap tool. If you’re tired of switching between different power types in order to catch mice, this tool is for you. With the Omni-trap, there will be no more need to switch between traps for the correct power type. You can simply combine all of your owned traps into one super powerful trap, and keep hunting! With the Omni-trap tool at your side, you’ll never miss a mouse again!
But wait. . . there’s more. This month, we will introduce a new way to create unlimited MouseHunt content while negating any need for the art department! Along with the Omni-trap, we will be releasing another new feature: the random mouse generator. Taking hundreds of individual drawings of mouse parts, the system will be able to generate several thousand new unique mice for you all to explore and capture!
Here are some examples of our favorites:

Well, that’s enough spoilers for today. If we give out all the sweetness now, we’ll spoil your dinner! Stay tuned, though, MouseHunters, because we’ve got a lots more exciting stuff coming your way!
We at the Nibbler have received news that there is still ONE more mouse. We are currently high on DLU right now, so we can afford to give a spoiler pic. :)
Shadow Mouse

Furoma's Trusted News
Hunters,as you know, furoma.com is always right. Today, we have Paul Humphreys from Furoma with a special spoiler.
Paul Humphreys says:
We’ve also received word that there’s an extra little send off planned to finish the event.
Rumour has it that a leader of mice has emerged, and has proposed negotiations with the King of Gnawnia to bring peace between the waring species.
Obviously such a thing would be disastrous for MouseHunters as we’d all be out of a (virtual) job, so our chance to sabotage these negotiations comes in the form of removing the sworn bodyguards of this leader of mice, the Musketeer Mouse.
Apparently the Musketeer mice will be found in various locations as they make their way towards the Town of Gnawnia, we don’t know where they’re starting yet, or any more details of the mice (such as which traps will be effective against them), but we’ll post it here as soon as we do.
There’s been a bit of speculation that we may have another Master Burglar style event at the end, where one lucky hunter may be able to capture the leader of mice after all the Musketeers have been caught, but we have no confirmation on that yet.
Good luck, and just remember the motto of the Musketeers: One four all and all four one.

New Mice Found!
As said earlier, Paul's post was NOT a joke. Musketeer mice have been spotted in the Acolyte Realm, hunting none other than the Cardinal Guard Mouse. Capable hunters, you better travel to the Forbidden Grove NOW, and everyone else who cannot access the Grove, too bad for you. Our very own spy, Fern, has reported that this event will last only for today! One more thing, you must use Moon Cheese to attract the Cardinal Guard Mouse and Limelight to attract the Cardinal Guard mouse. So hurry, hunters, off you go!
Rodentia Expands
Lastly, in this release-filled day, we have a NEW AREA coming up, hunters!
Look in this spoiler pic:
ô.ô
As you can see, a new area has opened in the Rodentia ocean, revealing part of a yet-to-be-released area. We do not have further reports from Fern. Please remain calm and patient as more updates unravel. If you have any enquiries, please post them in the Mouse Lore and Hunting Strategies section. Thank you.

*Ahem* I'd like to get up on my soapbox...
In the last segment of today's update, we have Ashley Timothy Wan, special guest speaker of the United Soapbox Association.
Take it away, Ashley!
Have you always wondered why the mice pillaged you? The wiki says something about it, which you can go read up in your own free time, but I've got 40 reasons why, in no particular order.
1) If your trap sucks, the mice will pillage you.
2) DHU. That’s why.
3) If you beg, the mice won’t beg from you. They’ll rob you blind though.
4) If you post too much, the mice will pillage you to slow you down.
5) If you post too little, the mice will pillage you to push you.
6) Fern hacked the servers because your FHU (Fern Hates U) is too high.
7) If you whine, the mice will give you more to whine about. By pillaging you.
8) If you whine more, the mice will pillage you more. Et cetera.
9) If you post in the wrong section, the mice will form a posse. And pillage you.
10) If you swear, the mice will effing pillage you.
11) If you’ve never been pillaged, the mice will pillage you.
12) If the mouse has never pillaged before, it will pillage you.
13) And when it finds out how fun that is, it will return in 2 hours to pillage you again.
14) If you are trying to stale cheese, the weak mice will pillage you just for fun.
15) If you’re hunting near a group of mice playing Truth Or Dare, you will get pillaged sooner or later. Trust me.
16) If you’re not using the best trap setup possible, the mice will teach you to. By pillaging you.
17) If you’re using the best trap setup, the mice will not whine. They will pillage you.
18) If you’re complaining that things are unfair, the mice will remind you that life isn’t fair. By pillaging you.
19) If the mice owe the Mobster Mice money, they will pillage you.
20) If you caught a family member, the mouse in question will pillage you.
21) If the mice are bored, they may pillage you. Or set you on fire by sabotaging a nearby Obelisk of Incineration, depending on their mood.
22) Some mice are greedy. They will rob you, then take the cheese on your trap just because they’re greedy.
23) If the mice want to pillage you, they will pillage you.
24) If you make a topic about Ronza or SB prices, the mice will pillage you.
25) If you troll, the mice will pillage you, then blame it on the Troll Mice.
26) The mice might select you randomly and pillage you. Not their fault your bag of gold smelled the best.
27) If you think mice aren’t smart enough to do anything in this list, they will pillage you in more and more creative ways until one of them uses your Shadow traps.
29) If you bought the Ambrosial Portal, the mice will pillage you for valuing attraction over power.
30) If you bought the Sinister Portal, the mice will pillage you for valuing power over attraction.
31) If you’re somewhere where the mice can pillage you, they will.
32) If the mice see your shiny new trap, they will scratch and dent it. Then they’ll pillage you for payment.
33) If you didn’t appreciate their scratching and denting, they will repeat. And pillage you again.
34) If you’re Master and above and you ask for help in Newcomers’ Lounge, the mice will treat you like a n00b. And pillage you.
35) If you think some of these reasons are fake, the mice will prove you wrong. By pillaging you.
36) If you realized Number 28 is missing, you’re too bored. The mice will relieve your boredom by pillaging you.
37) No reason. The mice were in a pillaging mood today.
38) If you didn’t bookmark furoma.com, the mice will pillage you until you do.
39) If you didn’t bookmark the Nibbler, the mice will pillage you until you do. Again. Except that the Nibbler Mice and Roxy will be pillaging you too.
40) If you’re offended, the mice will pillage you to distract you long enough until I’m out of range from your flamethrowers.
And to make up for 28, here’s the biggest reason why mice pillage you.
This is Mousehunt. You hunt the mice, the mice pillage you. It’s the circle of life!
Last but not least, have a wonderful April Fools' Day!
Rant taken from this 'ere thread.
The Soapbox is a semi-regular feature where hunters just like you get the opportunity to vent about an item that they are passionate about. Something might irk you just so, or maybe there's something great that you think has gone unrecognized. Is that the case? Then get up on the Soapbox.
To submit something for the Soapbox, please send a private message to Dane Koster (http://www.facebook.com/dane.koster). Unless you specify that you wish to remain anonymous, our preference will be to publish your name under your vent. Please note that we do NOT guarantee that your vent will be published, and also note that it will be screened for inappropriate content as well as poor speeling or grammar.....

Over time, we hope to expand this section to include a lot of links that would be useful to hunters of all shapes and stripes. Pretty soon, the standard shrug-off reply to forum questions won't be "Check the Wiki", it'll be "Check the Nibbler"!
If you've got a link that you think is missing, then be sure to let us know.
The Nibbler remains a wholly independent MouseHunt daily news e-publication. Throughout the day, our reporters scour through all the discussion boards, as we are dedicated to bringing the noteworthy news, highlights and gossip of the day to you, the hunters.
