Fooled you, didn't I? No? Darn. If you have played MouseHunt at all in the last few days, you've probably come across this message once or twice. Per hour. Trusty Facebook is at it again, resetting connections while innocent hunters try desperately to claim their King's Rewards. The only good-ish news is that it's not just you. It's probably not just MouseHunt either, but I wouldn't know as my addiction to MouseHunt leaves very little time for other games. I'm rambling again. Where was I... oh, yes! Right about here...
Lots of threads, no time to read them all? Here are today's MouseHunt news, highlights, and gossip! Read on:

* Seen on the MouseHunt Application Page, on Friday:
The Keeper's Candle is burning extra bright this weekend! The Forbidden Grove will be open for extended periods all weekend long! Good luck collecting runes!
You can see these updates in your news feed by "liking" the Application Page. This seemingly innocent announcement caused some confusion, as the devs were about as clear as they ever are.Common questions seen around town include:
Is the Grove open for longer than usual? Yes.
Is the Grove closed for shorter than usual? Yes.
Does the Grove close, or is it open all the time? It closes. Just less frequently and for shorter periods.
Has the drop rate for runes increased? No. But you can stay in the Grove for longer and collect more runes in the same time period.
Is there a limit on the number of runes you can collect? No.
When does this "event" end? We have no idea. After "All weekend," which should be up any time now. So if you're hanging out in the Forbiddigotten Grove collecting runes, check your location frequently and before going to bed, lest you spend the night using Ancient cheese in the Acolyte Realm. (Not that any Nibbler Reporter has ever done this. Ever.)
* Newsflash: Acolyte caught with ACRoNYM trap
A few Feedback Fridays ago, someone asked if the Acolyte could still be caught with the ACRoNYM (post-Ancient Box Trap release). Franco sort of shook his head and said something like, "Yeah, I think so." But we hunters don't take anything at face value (especially where Franco is concerned, as he's been known to make stuff up) so we investigated. I say, "We" but I mean "someone other than me." And yes, it appears that at least one person has caught an Acolyte without having access to the Ancient Box Trap. The official answer to the original question (if you can remember what it was) is "Yes, but it's very difficult and very rare. Most people don't even try." Even Larry doesn't recommend this hunting strategy. So kudos to anyone who tries it and succeeds... you're either a glutton for punishment or very, very lucky.
* To Quit, or not to Quit?
What would Shakespeare say? Margaret Syrotiak presents her thoroughly entertaining interpretation of MouseHunt according to Shakespeare in this thread. Warning: swallow your beverage before reading. The Nibbler is not responsible for damage to keyboards, monitors, iPhones, iPods, iPads, iPets, or any other hardware or software nearby. There, I warned you.
* On the more morbid side...
How quickly does your trap kill a mouse? Is it instantaneous, or does it lollygag about, toying with its prey? Trevor Hastings is categorizing them by "speed of death," so stop by this thread to add your two cents. And then run, before you get caught in a Tacky Glue Trap.
* BAN THE BOREDOM: An Official Nibbler-Sponsored Competition
The Nibbler is giving away 4 million gold and over 750SB+ to the hunters who have the most variety of locations, mice caught, cheese used, and loot dropped in a 36-hour log. Head over to the official thread to see all the details. Plot and plan and play with traps and cheese... it's what the game is all about!
* Quote of the Day goes to Paul Rocke:
Grab on to a bar, pull yourself up. Rinse and repeat.
From this bizarrely entertaining and interesting thread about Chin-ups.
-JCS, who now knows the difference between chin-ups and pull-ups. And someone suggested once that this game wasn't relevant to life... tsk, tsk.
So far, so good, and don't forget to sound the horn!

Feedback Friday revisited - New and Improved Nibbler coverage!
I know, Feedback Friday came and went and was recapped already, but the Nibbler's new recruit Trevor Hastings wrote this fabulous Feedback Friday Review just after dealine for Friday's publication. I loved it, and you should have the opportunity to love it too! So without further ado, here's the Feedback Friday Re-recap:
•The dev team is exploring the idea of what you could "buy" with your tournament tokens, from traps to bases to rare cheeses that take away the grind, "Black Widow" cheese for instance. We can expect to see items that can ONLY be acquired from participating in tournaments, and there will likely be at least one item that is equal to or better than the best non-tournament counterparts. In Longtail the chests will come and they will be integrated into the system of being able to drop more than one item - something we can expect to see more often, like for example, an acolyte's box dropping a scroll every time and then a random item, rather than separate.MouseHunter of the Day
THIS JUST IN: CHUCK NORRIS IS INSIDE THE CHESTS! QUOTED FROM DAVE DIRECTLY!!!
THIS JUST IN 2: Derr is hard. Nerg is easy. Elub is flustering. Cape Clawed is breezy. The Jungle of Dread can expect to see clouds, more clouds tonight, clouds tomorrow, and, it looks like clouds the next day. You know what, just expect it to rain, and you won't be disappointed.
•Will the iPhone APP be free? No one knows.
•The potion yield system was designed so that it increased by a percentage with each level, and rounded down. This worked nicely at first but resulted in some oddities for some of the potions (as you may have already noticed), some ranks getting you a higher boost than others. In Longtail, this programming has been rewritten, something Franco thought was fun to do, and they have the ability to tweak the system how they want; it should be linear from 3.0 on.
THIS JUST IN 3:
118.4 Million WHITE catches ; 122,000 misses 64,000
ACOLYTE catches ; 547,000 misses
Leprechaun is under 1% catch rate ~30,000
DRAGON catches ; missed ~150,000 times
***THE TOY MOUSE HAS BEEN MISSED 10 TIMES*** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdLIerfXuZ4
Romeo missed over 1,000,000 times opposed to 1.4m catches
Sensei missed almost 1,000,000 times opposed to ~86k catches
Dojo missed over 2,000,000 times opposed to ~700k catches
Silth missed ~87,000 times opposed to ~13k catches

THIS JUST IN 4: NEW MICE WITH LONGTAIL! INCLUDING A LONGTAIL MOUSE!
•Unstable curds will have additions, not replacements
•The weight system no longer affects gold and points - the devs found this to be rather silly.
•The devs are thinking about an "effectiveness bar" rather than just repeating "Your trap was less effective!" over and over again.
•Power types for mice have been removed, well formally anyway. They're now just more suitably listed with a common weakness. Here are the names:
Indigenous Mice
Forest Guild
The Shadow Clan
Digby Dirt Dwellers
Followers of Furoma
The Forgotten Mice
Aquatic Order
The Elub Tribe
The Nerg Tribe
The Derr Tribe
The Dreaded Horde
Draconic Brood
Event Mice

1. If you were a mouse, what type would you be and what would you do to escape the traps set out for you?
I would have been a hybrid for Dragon, Acolyte and Silth mouse, with Silth’s ability to hide, Acolyte’s abilty to escape and Dragon’s fire breathe I can escape anything ;)
2. How much cheese do you eat in a day? Which MH cheese are you most likely to eat in real life? Would you ever consider crafting cheese at home?
I don’t eat cheese normally, not a fan of cheeses
3. Have you skipped anything important just to sound the horn (ie school, work, sleep)? Did you enjoy it?
Well, not skipped actually, but I keep sounding the horn while in lectures, so its like missing something, yeah it was worth it

Swiss Army Mouse Trap, I like chopping
7. Do you think you could beat an Aged Mouse at chess?
Oh, I think I can, but I won’t, don’t wanna break someone’s heart ;)
8. What was the last occasion where you caught a rare or difficult mouse with a ridiculously low amount of cheese?
Yes, I caught sensei with my last piece of O.M.G cheese
9. What has been the worst decision of your MouseHunt career, in hindsight?
Buying NVMRC, I had to hunt 2 weeks to make money for VMT:/
10. If the Ornament Mouse, Bottled Mouse, and Lambent Crystal Mouse were having a fight, who would win and why?
Wait! They can fight?
