Lots of threads, no time to read them all? Here is today's MouseHunt news, highlights, and gossip! Read on:
SECTION ONE
Ok, so hands up who has been to Ronzas Trap-o-Barn and bought themselves a super shiny Chrome DrillBot? Sigh......yes I caved to the pressure and so far my opinion is....meh! No better, no worse than the RhinoBot, but wow wee have the boards exploded with whining and criticism of the new trap. There is flaming of other posters who dare criticise the devs, the new trap, the weather and even beggars. And speaking of which, begging has reached epic proportions. Oh well.....just another day in the neighbourhood, and I for one am not going to report on the numerous threads all on the SAME DARN THING! *breathe out*
Why am I not reporting on the Chrome DrillBot? Because it was done in yesterday's edition. The complaints department is shut so if you have an issue with what I haven't done, then call 1-800-tough luck, and someone will not answer your call shortly. What I will include in this edition though, is what people are discovering with it, stats, opinions either way and any other useful bits of info floating around out there. I think this edition is going to take me a while to put together, as wading through muck takes up a heck of a lot of time. Ok.....onwards.
CRUNCHY RUNS USING THE CHROME DRILLBOT
Everyone is curious naturally as to what difference the Chrome DrillBot will make while collecting those elusive red pepper seeds in Derr and a thread has been created for you to post your crunchy runs by Stefano Gattolin. While these stats are incomplete and at this point haven't been run through Pooflinger's tools, for those wondering whether to do a derr run, this could give you all the info you need. I tried a 20 crunchy run last night (or day for you....oh never mind) and I have yet to form an opinion either way. But believe me when I do, you all will be the first to know. So in the interests of research, if you have recently done a crunchy run using the new trap then you can post it on this thread and/or submit it to Pooflinger. Let's find out just how good this thing is, shall we?
MY HEAD HURTS
Luck is always good. We can either win the lottery, get someone to do something silly according to how drunk and impressionable they are or even catch a mouse that has been doing our heads in for ages. But what is luck exactly? Is it crossing your fingers, legs and eyes or is it something you can actually put said crossed finger on. Well those boffins at MH Analytics have created a thread that tried to help us all figure out what luck in the game actually does, how it happens and the eternal question.....why can't I catch (insert expletive and mouse breed of your choice), when everyone else can catch it easily. All research is gladly accepted (although grants are not available for more research) and will be crunched, pummelled and picked apart by the analytics team. I refuse to venture into this thread as even thinking about how much luck I don't have and the reasons for it are enough to give me a migraine, but I wait with eager anticipation to see if DHU actually is a factor in luck........darn that cat!
UNOFFICIAL OPINION THREAD
*yawn* Yes there is another one, but fingers crossed this time things can remain civil. Davis Teague is braving the masses, asking people to not comment (yeah good luck with that) just put a '+' if they like the Chrome DrillBot or a '-' if they don't. Sounds simple yeah? Hmmm....time will tell I guess. So if any hunters out there can actually hold their tongue and just post a symbol then let Davis know what you think. Can I go back to sleep now? *yawn*
LOVE IT OR HATE IT
Chrome DrillBot, CDDB2, ChillBot, Call it whatever the heck you want Bot......have a definate opinion that doesnt quite cover a couple of symbols? Then air your wonder or rage in these threads:
LOVE IT
HATE IT
Now enough from me about the darn trap. Get it....don't get it.....whatever.
I WANTZ DE GOLDS PLZ!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok we all know what I am referring to, and now they are breeding at a rapid rate. The other day I saw a lord (A LORD!!!! Oh the shame!) begging for gold, but a few hunters have decided to take a stand and say 'Heck no!' to those they consider leeches on the game. For any hunter out there that thinks 1) begging for gold like the title of this paragraph says, will actually get them anything (ummm no) or 2) that saying they HAVE to have the new traps, here is an answer for you, compliments of Stephanie Welsher. So for all those you are on their knees, annoying the heck out of other players and making this Nibbler's life miserable trying to find news-worthy threads, please, for all that is holy, read this thread.
Also on the same subject of begging, a thread has been created by Marcia Mariacher that echoes what a lot of the community feels. Although I do feel bad that the beggars will not be getting a good square meal, I do see that it is frustrating to those that have gold and have worked for it. Whether you agree that beggars should be catered for or not, the post brings up many valid points and is (for a change) a civil discussion on the issue that drives us batty. To air your views on the subject, whether you are the beggar or the beggee (!), go to the thread and please remember that ToS applies to everyone. Play nice kiddies, otherwise Santa may take away your new toys.
NOW WHERE IS MY SAT NAV
On a totally different topic (hooray at last), Joshua Tien is asking the question that has stalkers rubbing their hands together in glee: Where in the world are we MouseHunters from? It's quite simple really. Just go to the thread and type the city, state/territory/area, and country you are from. The current standings are the USA with the most hunters (so far but since it is hot in Australia, most of us Aussies are probably in the pool right about now). Strangely Singapore doesn't have a lot tallied but I am sure that will change soon. So if you want everyone to know where you live (sort of) just go to the thread and tell us where you are. If you dare.......
QUOTE OF THE DAY
Today's Quote of the Day goes to Denise Mastenbrook for doing what we should all aspire to in the thread Maintaining Scoreboard Rank:
" I am targeting the bottom half of the scoreboard, it's much easier".
I agree Denise. Pick them off one by one I say and wallow at the bottom.
So far, so good, and don't forget to sound the horn!
MouseHunter of the Day:Your name: Kathryn Cheshire
Your current rank: Lady
The rank you think you'll be when this is used: Lady (*sigh*)
Nibbler: White or Brown Mouse? Why? Brown mouse. He's a cheeky little opportunist who reminds me of my youngest child. I just can't relate to the white mouse at all. His timid 'please don't hurt me' look makes me want to squash him with my rhinobot.
Nibbler: Name one thing not many people would want to know about you...? NOT want to know about me? I adore pickled gherkins. I love them big and juicy . I can easily sit down and eat an entire jar of them, slowly savouring each savoury mouthful.
Nibbler: What cheese would you most prefer out of the MH cheese selection? Runic. I have had a love affair with the Acolyte Realm for a long time - though since the introduction of the Ancient Box Trap that has gone a bit sour - but not in a good way like gherkins. In a bad 'Barbie ate too many gherkins and barfed pink all over my hunt page' way.
Nibbler: What would you choose as QotD today? Fire salt or rumble
Nibbler: What is an odd talent you have that most people can't do? I can frighten away door-to-door religious salespeople by quoting from the New Testament in the original Greek.Nibbler: Do You watch Feedback Friday? What would be your favorite FBF moment? I don't watch it as it is the wee hours of the morning for me so I am tucked up in bed with my iPhone.
Nibbler: Ronza or not to Ronza? Explain in 13 words or less. I'm a Ronza hypocrite. I find the constant 'When is Ronza coming' threads immensely tedious but I find myself sitting on the edge of my seat wondering the same thing. I also got really frustrated with all the disappointed whining last time Ronza came (Folks - please read the list of what she has bought on previous occasions and adjust your expectations) and loudly said that I hoped she'd never come back - now I can't wait! BTW - I also can't keep to 13 words or less. Sorry.
Nibbler: PC or Mac? Mac! I've always used PCs but since I got an iPhone I'm determined to only buy Mac from now on.
Nibbler: Sink or Swim and why? Sink. Swimming sounds far too energetic and why would I bother when I have the SS Huntington II?
Nibbler: Finish the statement: I wish the discussion boards would/were...? I wish the discussion boards would bring back the 'reply to' feature. I find myself avoiding posting now because its a hassle getting heaps of 'XYZ replied to your post' notifications only to rush off and discover that actually no XYZ didn't. They replied to the person three posts under you, who was replying to the person 2 posts above you. NO ONE has replied to you. You might as well be invisible and these blasted notifications just serve to rub it in!
Nibbler: Which is your favorite base and why? I love my wooden base with target. It has been a true and faithful companion to my acronym in the dank and lonely tunnels of the Catacombs as well as the harsh and unforgiving Forbidden Grove.
Nibbler: How often would you like to see changes in the game? I'm really enjoying the current pace of a cluster of changes/additions every two or three months.
Nibbler: How often do you read The Nibbler? Every day! I love you guys! ♥
Nibbler: Fluff or not to Fluff? Explain what YOUR perfect mix would be! I think a decent amount of fluff is absolutely vital but underneath it needs to be some real substance. Hang on, are we talking about cappuccinos or something else?
Nibbler: What is your opinion of the most underused crafting item to date? That to date, it has been vastly underused.
Nibbler: What do you like best about MouseHunt? Ooooh! Now that is a HARD question! I love the complexity of the game and how challenging it gets. I also love its variety. And I am really impressed with how responsive the Devs are in considering player feedback. But for me, one of the best features is the lovely people who I enjoy hunting with.
Nibbler: Who would win in a battle: the Assassin or Champion Mouse? Why? Definitely the Assassin. I mean, the Champion is much more powerful, and is able to command seas and oceans. But look at its weird blue eyes! No irises! The poor thing is completely blind and while it is more than a match for us clumsy hunters, the stealthy and highly trained Assassin would have absolutely no trouble running rings around the Champion.

SECTION THREE
The HOLIDAY SEASONS CARD ASSAULT on Hit Grab HQ !!
Come on and join the fun! So far bunches of postcards have been sent to HGHQ but still not enough to fill the kiddie pool that the devs were going to wade in when they get enough cards! Now is the season of the Holidays! Whatever holiday you like to celebrate, add some fun with the rest of us! Mix whatever you and yours enjoy and say it with a card to mix with all the other cards from around the world! If you don't celebrate any particular holiday, that's fine too! Make your own holiday! For example, (if you're having a hard time coming up with a new holiday? How about: "I love DRRAGS day!" or "Celebrate Doug's luv day!" or even "Tickle me with cupcake Day!" Perhaps you don't want to send a card because you're GREEN, as in looking out for the resources of the planet and don't want to contribute by sending frivolous tree bits to a foreign country. Try sending a plant o gram! (What ever that is, just make sure they transfer it to a card....)
Send your Holiday Seasons card to HitGrab Lab's current address at
2nd Floor, 2552 Bristol Circle, Oakville, Ontario, Canada, L6H 5S1. We players can obviously have a lot of fun and be creative with this idea and the Devs will enjoy all the Holiday cards. Just think what a couple hundred thousand monthly users from 180 countries and 6 continents can do,
ay eh?
Let's show them a holiday season from around the world.
Come on people. Post a comment if you're going to be sending or have sent a card! Let's see what the tally is going to look like.
