SECTION ONE

Well, it is news...
Farewell Ronza!
Posted by Dave Vanderburg on Wed, November 4, 2009

As most hunters have no doubt noticed by now Ronza has left the Kingdom. She wanted to thank everyone for the warm welcome and hoped the stowaway Rockstars that arrived along with her didn't cause too much trouble.

A few Rockstars still seem to be partying around the Kingdom. If you have some Rockforth cheese left you may just be able to attract one of the few remaining Rockstars to your trap. The remaining Rockstar mice still have Ronza's Satchels of Surprize!

The united efforts of hunters to trap Hollowheads has proven to be a success, they have vanished until next year. The King is especially glad the Hollowheads have vanished and has reportedly retired his nightlight until next year.

We hope everyone had fun this month! Happy hunting!
...And yes, we all (well, except those that don't tend to look at either the map or the forums) realize that the map has changed, with the addition of those two incomplete structures that will be slated for a future tournament-related release. Capture-the-flag-on-a-mouse, anyone? Feel free to speculate on precisely what it is or is not, when it will be done its construction, what sort of condiments Ronza needs to drop when she returns for her burgers to actually make them edible, etc.

Now...

Now, it's time for a nice, refreshing tropical drink.
Now that hit the spot, don't ya think?

The Nibbler is taking a holiday today. We'll see you all tomorrow, naturally.

And of course, don't forget to sound the horn!

MouseHunter of the Day:
Your name: Victor Song

Your current rank: Lord 2%
The rank you think you'll be when this is used: King over 9000%

(Actually, Victor, you are Lord 11%. Nice try, though)
Nibbler: White or Brown Mouse? Why?
Why so mouseist? Can't both fur colours of mice live in harmony and be caught equally? As Sir Holy Mouse Martin Lucifer King the 45th said : "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their fur but by their gold content."
Nibbler: Name one thing not many people would want to know about you...?
I have an acne density of 5 pimple per square inch of face.

Nibbler: What cheese would you most prefer out of the MH cheese selection?
Superbrie. I wonder how that green plus sign tastes like. Mmmmm...

Nibbler: What would you choose as QotD today?
Whatever is on the forums.

Nibbler: What is an odd talent you have that most people can't do?
I can refrain myself from posting a ronza thread on the forums.

Nibbler: Do You watch Feedback Friday? What would be your favorite FBF moment?
Yeah. I will eat my shoe once Byran eats his on FBF live.

Nibbler: Ronza or not to Ronza? Explain in 13 words or less.
To Ronza!

Nibbler: PC or Mac?
Linux.
Nibbler: Sink or Swim and why?
The acolyte mouse lives on land, duh. how can I catch him while underwater?

Nibbler: Finish the statement: I wish the discussion boards would/were...?
give me a nickel every time I see a Ronza thread.

Nibbler: Which is your favorite base and why?
polar base! because it looks like it's melting while armed with the spear gun :D

Nibbler: How often would you like to see changes in the game?
Less than once per month.

Nibbler: How often do you read The Nibbler?
Every day there is an edition.

Nibbler: Fluff or not to Fluff? Explain what YOUR perfect mix would be!
Enormous truckloads of fluff that expand to infinity and beyond.

Nibbler: What is your opinion of the most underused crafting item to date?
The most under used item would be...scrap metals I guess. I have 69 of them even after crafting the ship and and ACRo.

Nibbler: What do you like best about MouseHunt?
I will overload the FB servers if i try to list them all out.

Nibbler: Who would win in a battle: the Assassin or Champion Mouse? Why?
The assassin mouse, because dragon tattoos on bare arms give +110 agility and +1337 strength, while also applying a -10% mana usage multiplier and a -3 damage buff to all surrounding mice. The champion mouse has a jar on his back. Psshh.

The POST CARD ASSAULT on Hit Grab HQ Continues
Come on and join the fun! Dozens of Hunters have already found their postcards and shipped them off to the devs to show their support for the game they love to play and then come complain on the forums about when things don't go their way. That's right, it's MouseHunt! And hey, what better way to tell Jacob about your secret crush on him than by attaching it to a postcard of Pamplona's running of the bulls?

Send your postcard to HitGrab Lab's current address at 2nd Floor, 2552 Bristol Circle, Oakville, Ontario, Canada, L6H 5S1. We players can obviously have a lot of fun and be creative with this idea and the Devs will enjoy all the post cards. Just think what a couple hundred thousand monthly users from 180 countries and 6 continents can do, ay eh?Let's bury them. I want to see trees falling due to increase in postcards!

Come on people. Post a comment if you're going to be sending or have sent a card! Let's see what the tally is going to look like.

SECTION ONE

RONZA HAS LEFT THE BUILDING
Deal with it
And the ticker:
After Ronza leaves there will be a limited number of Rockstar mice left.

Sometime around 4pm dev time, Ronza left. At first, it appeared she might be taking some hunters with her

But they were eventually dropped off in the Town of Gnawnia.

Approximately 18 simultaneous threads appeared, alerting us to her departure.

Another 18 simultaneous threads appeared, alerting us to a new structure or two on the full map.

And then the threads asking when Ronza is coming. These remind me of smoke filled college dorms littered with greasy pizza boxes and one idiot with cheese still dripping from his chin, asking, "When's the pizza gonna get here? I'm starving dude. Man, we called like hours ago."

Ok, she's GONE. She has just left. You can still smell the exhaust. You were warned a month in advance, so for those of you that didn't listen and didn't save or plan accordingly, ahem, WAAAAHHHH!.

But that brings us to those that just started or just plain didn't think they could do anything but rely on the gold of strangers. I want to go back and refer to this brave soul that did exactly what should have been done even though we mentioned it in yesterdays Nibbler. It is a testament to those that do versus those that just give up before they even start: (edited for content- actual link here)

Marco Matera (Italy) wroteon November 2, 2009
I started playing the day Ronza arrived (or the day after).

I started hunting small mice and stuff, upgrading my trap whenever possible and progressing little by little. Then one day I noticed the NVMRC thread about getting newbies a Rocking Horse and I applied hoping for a chance. As soon as I posted - bam! - I got the money and I was like "Wow! This community is amazing."

Then it occurred to me that I could try shooting at the moon.
The Magma Base, sweet thing indeed. But 238200 points required and I only had like 40k with less than one week before Ronza would take off.

I asked in the newbie forum if it was too much of a stretch to try and get that and I got many "impossible" comments.

Only one person kept my hopes up. A guy named Faron Cobb (who's getting some SB+ just for that :)) He said:

"Keep hunting in Ronza's shop, the mice there are better than in the harbour. If youi go like crazy you just might make it. If you were to donate and get some sb+ so that gold wasn't a problem then using brie would up your chances. Sb would be even better, but it could get expensive to hunt for a solid week with it."

So I just did that. Packed up on SB+ and started a non stop hunting session. I figured out I needed around 40k points each day to be able to get it on monday.

Then I got some comfort from Vladimir Jurišić that basically suggested the same strategy Faron gave me and he added to go hunt in the Mountain as soon as I got journeyman rank (SB+ for you too :))

So my schedule was set and I was following with dedication: when I had bad days I stayed up till 4am or 5am to get to the daily goal. I tried to go hunt every time the horn was up and I managed to be on schedule till saturday.

Then hell broke loose: sunday morning I had to face a 3 hours downtime for maintenance. And when the game was back up I had to endure the most horrible streak ever: it was colored mice all over the place. I kept going and I asked for help in the Meet and Greet forums: I needed more friends to stay at Ronza letting me use the horn to try and rake a few more points for each hunt.

I stayed up till 4am and made the daily goal. This morning I got a few nice catches (and a complimentary Black Widow) then I moved to the Mountains as soon as possible and - lo and behold - ninjas saved the day.

I got my Magma Base now... A few hours before Ronza's departure and I'm happy, excited for the thrill of the challenge and overwhelmed by the kindness of everyone on these forums.

I don't have much but I'm sending out a few SB+ to those that helped me, to those that stayed in Ronza without using the horn, to those that supported me in this crazy hunt.

It's not much, but it's something from my heart to you.

Last but not least a HUGE thanks to the NVMRC for getting me the Rocking Horse and to Nadine Mattilda Lupien for buying some SB+ from me at a slightly higher pp than the market. With that cash I was able to buy me the Speakers and at least half the Magma Base.

As soon as I build some cash back up I will try and buy it back at the same price and in the future I'll do my best to donate to the NVMRC because I would love for someone else to feel what I felt when they donated me the Rocking Horse.

You guys are amazing.

I love this story. Kudos to everyone that did what they said couldn't be done.

NVMRC ROCKS THE RONZA

NVMRC Rockin' Giveaway
Nadine Mattilda Lupien November 3 at 6:16pm
Hello,

Here are the final numbers on the NVMRC Rockin' Giveaway:

Total Gold Given 36,108,900 pieces

308 gifts given @ an average of 117,236 per person

Gold donated by the communitay - 37,041,882

SB+ donated by the communitay - 3229

"I, in the name of the NVMRC, would like to thank the whole of the communitay for their support, their donations and just for generally being wonderful during this whole event, that lasted a full week, in helping me give some 308 Novices and Apprentices their HitGrab Rockin' Horse, and helping them have a better mousehunting experience.

As you can see, I still have some change in my pockets, so after the Toronto Meet, you can all expect some more "pay it forward, NVMRC style" action.

On a personnal note, I would like to thank my close friends from the Neverending thread for the help and support, and a special thank you to Nathan R. Jones for keeping the numbers for me.

An update: Soon some trap programmes will be taken over by Holly Boulanger and Damo Bradshaw.

Already doing competitions for the NVMRC is Nathan R. Jones.

Welcome aboard, you three!!

Nadine, Acting President, NVMRC"

NO, THANK YOU NADINE! I'm sure there are many others that appreciate all of your hard work.

THE HUNT 180

One Hunter's Quest for the 180 hunt log

The beginning:

Evan Zayas (Cary Academy) on October 27, 2009 at 4:20pm

Before anyone says anything:

***I AM FULLY AWARE THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET OVER 200 HUNTS PER LOG. THE POINT OF THE 180 IS FOR IT TO BE IN 36 HOURS. I'M ALSO AWARE THAT I COULD GET 183 HUNTS IN 36 HOURS AND 59 MINUTES AND IT STILL BE CALLED A 1 DAY 12 HOUR LOG. THAT'S NOT THE POINT. DON'T POINT THAT OUT.***

Now, I'm going to try to get 180 hunts in a log. If everything goes according to plan, it will begin on Sunday the 1st in the morning (Eastern time), probably around 10 or 11. It will end on Monday the 2nd in the evening, again around 10 or 11. I've got a f%$&load of work to do for school, and I've convinced my mom to let me take a sick day on Monday to work. I will actually be working for a lot of this 36 hours- a mix between schoolwork and Seinfeld. I'll stay up all night between Sunday and Monday, with a 12 pack of Mountain Dew by my side.

In order to get 180 hunts, the delay between all of the 144 horn calls must add up to less than 15 minutes. That's 7.5 seconds of maximum delay (after the normal 15 minutes) between each horn call on average- including the time it takes for me to react, the horn to animate and sound, and the page to reload. I'll have to be ready to horn as instantaneously as possible every time, for 36 hours. Just 1 or 2 minutes of delay could kill my chances.

Something may happen- say a trap check doesn't come, or I'm 3 minutes late on a horn call and I soon realize that it would be impossible to get the 180. In this case, I'll resort to getting as many hunts as possible, which is over 200 (206 i think?). My goal will be to break 200. If this happens (which it very well could), I'll go offline for 24 hours, starting less than 15 minutes before my log would come. The log would then come on Tuesday morning around 10 or 11.

Everyone wish my luck- I'll sure as hell need it. And wish me luck with my work too... that's more important than this 180 hunt log. I'd rather get 173 hunts and A's than 180 hunts and C's.

I'll be hunting in Elub (I'm in Nerg right now, but after 10 more veggies I'll head to Elub) using Kraken/Magma and Super Brie. If I could manage to get 180/180 attractions... that would be even more ridiculous. If the Gods of luck are on my side even more, I could possible break 100 shells. We'll see.

Evan Zayas (Cary Academy)

EPIC WIN!!!!

Nibbler: White or Brown Mouse? Why?
Brown. The white mouse looks like...a kid drew it. (sorry!!!)

Nibbler: Name one thing not many people would want to know about you...?
I’m allergic to watermelon.

Nibbler: What cheese would you most prefer out of the MH cheese selection?
Gouda? Out of all of them I’ve only tried cheddar.

Nibbler: What would you choose as QotD today?
“The early worm gets eaten.” or “Hard work always pays off in the end. Laziness always pays off now.” :)

Nibbler: What is an odd talent you have that most people can't do?
I can speak five languages?

Nibbler: Do You watch Feedback Friday? What would be your favorite FBF moment?
I do. My fave was Dev Dave’s face when Brian spilled the beans on Ronza. CLASSIC.

Nibbler: Ronza or not to Ronza? Explain in 13 words or less.
Ronza. She brings a whole new hype to the game.

Nibbler: PC or Mac?
PC!

Nibbler: Sink or Swim and why?
Swim. You need to keep going.

Nibbler: Finish the statement: I wish the discussion boards would/were...?
Full of interesting topics, have less flamers, and thread starters that read through the other topics before posting redundant new ones.

Nibbler: Which is your favorite base and why?
The Tribal. It just looks so funky. The Dehydration is pretty cool too.

Nibbler: How often would you like to see changes in the game?
About once per month. Some minor or major ones would be nice. New mice in old areas would really spice things up for everyone.

Nibbler: How often do you read The Nibbler?
Everyday.

Nibbler: Fluff or not to Fluff? Explain what YOUR perfect mix would be!
The more content the better. Separating the fluff out into one section would be better, so flamers won’t start their nonsense.

Nibbler: What is your opinion of the most underused crafting item to date?
Bead of slumber and Coal. Meteorite Pieces? OH!!! RADIOACTIVE SLUDGE!

Nibbler: What do you like best about MouseHunt?
The incredible artwork; and of course, the tension you get before sounding a horn in a difficult area. Also, the feeling of catching a mouse for the first time.

Nibbler: Who would win in a battle: the Assassin or Champion Mouse? Why?
The Champion. Because it’s prettier. (:

"Chin up Cheese out"
Dream Interpretation with DR RAGS

Do you have dreams that involve MouseHunt aka MHD? I'd like to hear them! I will give you an online interpretation and evaluate your dream personally! Just send them to me via PM and I'll include them periodically in The Nibbler:)

I myself have had MHD (MouseHunt Dreams) on occasion and will reveal them to you soon enough.

First let's look quickly at a dream mentioned by Developer Dave in FBF. Dave mentioned that he had a dream about a coding problem at work and then when he woke up he had the solution to the problem and immediately went to work on it. Dreams are often the minds way of solving problems we have in our daily lives and sometimes if we pay attention we can fix what's wrong or "bothering"us.

Throughout time many famous artists, poets, musicians, scientists and writers among many have acknowledged their dreams as a source of ideas and creations.

The famous 18th century composer Giuseppe Tartini was only able to complete one of his masterpieces after remembering one trill from a dream. Renowned writer Charles Dickins gained the inspiation for many of his characters and plots from his dreams.

Author Robert Louis Stevenson great novel The Strange Case of Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde came from one of his inspirational dreams. Inventor Thomas Edison came up with some of his best inventions from his dreams.

The 19th century Chemist Kekule dreamed of a serpent eating its tale which inspired him to find the molecular arrangement of the benzene molecule.

Hope this helps!
Thanks!

Lots of threads, no time to read them all? Here is today's MouseHunt news, highlights, and gossip! Read on:

SECTION ONE

Okay, so I gotta admit, I told the rest of the crew I'd take today, but it's looking a little sketchy. After getting back from work, going on a few errands, making supper, going on another errand, and throwing a competion, I had my very first Skype video chat with my sister who's been living in Taiwan for the past 4+ years (she JUST hooked into the internet at home). Needless to say, I enjoyed it very much and it went very, very late. And now I'm one tired little MouseHunter.

So, long story short, I present to you: the Phoning It In edition. No prelude, not much explanation, just the links and that's it.

Enjoy.

Ticker (Banner) Time!
Ronza leaves this Tuesday (Nov 3). Visit her shop before she flies away!
Pretty self-explanatory, this one. Tuesday, in this case, means sometime during their working hours, which would be 2PM to 10PM GMT. Kapisce? Oh, and if you're still hunting there when she leaves, I'm guessing you'll get ejected to some other location, likely the Town of Gnawnia, because that's what happened the other times.

Threads of interest!

1) Disappeared! That's what happened to the Hollowheads today, and good on Hunter David Maillard for bringing it to the attention of those that wanted to know!

Click

2) Inspiring! The story of one hunter who achieved his goal, the Magma base, thanks to a whole lot of dedication and plenty of support.

Click

3) Famous! At least, that's the word Karen Yates and Victoria Lamerton are using for these faces.

Click

4) MouseHunt goes down at 1:35 AM or thereabouts, dev time. Many hunters see this as a sign of the Apocal... I mean, Ronza's departure. But it wasn't. Total psych!

Click

5) Another dedicated hunter... Although some people might call what he did silly, I say you only live once and kudos for stepping boldly forward with your purchase.

Click

6) A whole lot of hostility has been bandied about, what with some hunters begging and several more whining about anything that looks even remotely close to begging, so it's good to finally see some community spirit in Ronza's final hours here. Fresh competitions are plentiful. And people asking for loans (particularly if they're small) are frequently actually being listened to instead of doggy-piled upon. One such thread is as follows:

Click

(Remember the Snickerdoodles, people!)

7) Quote of the Day

Ben Jaworski:
But, but, but Ronza has my IV attached to her blimp! Noooooo! :O

*Dies*
So far, so good, and don't forget to sound the horn!

Rock on, Gnawnia!
After getting word of how well the Apprentices did in ridding the Harbour of Hollowheads, the Chief Constable of the Town of Gnawnia sent out this notice:
Dear Hunters,

I am in desperate need of your help. With the arrival of Ronza and the subsequent rise in the Rockstar Mouse population, our office has received numerous complaints from citizens in Gnawnia. They have complained that the Rockstar Mice are playing too loud and too late at night. The citizens of the town are unable to sleep and are thus unable to perform their jobs adequately.

Just yesterday the King’s cook put Béarnaise sauce on his Highness’s pancakes instead of Genuine Gnawnian Maple Syrup. Needless to say this cook has been fired and is preparing a lawsuit the Rockstar Mice and their management company. This kind of thing is happening all over the city. Without people working, the city is grinding to a halt. Trash is not being picked up, criminals are not being caught (thankfully they aren’t that good at burgling as they, too, are not sleeping much) and the moat is overrun with muck as the muckrakers are unable to rake the muck!!!

I am expecting it to get worse as Ronza’s departure is nigh and the Rockstar Mice party like its 1999. I ask you, loyal hunters, to catch these Rockstar Mice. Silence their music so the town can get back to normal!

Orderly,

Chief Constable Higginforth
It seems the Town of Gnawnia needs our help, hunters. I’m organizing a group to help out and am announcing The Rockstar Ruckus in the Town of Gnawnia – Novice Hunters Only competition.

MouseHunter of the Day:

Your name: Damien Willey
Your current rank: Lord

Nibbler: Ninjas or pirates?
Gotta say Pirates since I was born in Penzance! Avast me proud beauty, come on up and see me urchins!

Nibbler: Name one thing not many people know about you...?
I collect lead figurines of marvel comic characters and have them displayed in my living room - I’ve got over 100 now J

Nibbler: If you could start over in MouseHunt, what would you do different this time?
Get myself adopted by the AN/AM adopters, life would’ve been so much easier with a little guidance, but I’m still proud to be a self taught hunter!

Nibbler: What has been your favorite MouseHunt moment?
Ohh lets see…was it when I discovered the 3 piece recipe for rumble cheese, or being the first hunter to own an ambush trap?? Can’t quite decide!

Nibbler: What do you like doing outside of Mousehunt? Alternatively, is there life outside of MouseHunt?
I’m a bit of a sci fi guy, reading lots of star wars novels and I enjoy some of the extreme shows on TV like deadliest catch or ice road truckers. That and looking after my 5 kids!

Nibbler: What character on a tv show do you most identify with?
Oh heck, I’ve no idea the T-Rex from Jurassic park maybe :P

Nibbler: If there was just one thing you could tell the entire MH world, what would that one thing be?
More Ronza threads!!!!!!! ONLY JOKING!! Please don’t flame me…..
Enjoy the game and don’t let it get to you! We know hydra’s are hard, we know stonework warriors refuse to be caught, but hang in there and one day you’ll all have a little acolyte of ur own!

Nibbler: Chicken or Beef?
Mouse - there’s no cows or chickens in this game!

Nibbler: Cupcakes or cake?
Cheese! Sheesh! Oh well I suppose cheesecake then

Nibbler: Finish the statement: I wish more MouseHunters would...?
If I was to say anything I’d say stop begrudging Jennifer Rewers her position in the table - ur only jealous and the only way you’ll catch her is if the devs turn her into a mouse! (Which I think is a damn fine idea btw)

Nibbler: Which is your favorite mouse and why?
I love the artwork of some of these mice and my favourite at the moment is the stonework warrior, definitely one of the best. My previous fave was the gate guardian.

Nibbler: Do you look forward to changes in the game, or does it mess with your strategy?
I do look forward to changes, because its always something new, exciting and the gameplay always changes with each new location, so ur constantly being challenged and ur ability as a good hunter brought into question! I love it.

Nibbler: Do you subscribe to the Nibbler?
Alas my subscription ran out, I thieve it from the neighbours now though :D

Nibbler: What is your favorite trap in the game?
Well I’ll always have a soft spot for my little Ambush trap, but I quite like the clock as well, again it’s the artwork that always sells it to me

Nibbler: What is your favorite season?
Spring! Its always sunny here in Cornwall, it rains the rest of the time!

Nibbler: What do you like best about MouseHunt?
The evolution of the game, the artwork and the anticipation of the next challenge

Nibbler: Who would win in a battle: the Mojo or the Lycan? Why?
Well Lycans are basically werewolf mice and since u turn into one if a werewolf bites you, I reckon the Lycan would win in the end. The way I see it, they face off, they grapple, Lycan gets his bite in, before Mojo goes all onyx stone on him and blows him away….but then of course Mojo would later turn into a Lycan….with an onyx stone! How awesome would that be! A Lojo, or a Mycan, make ur own up! Mojo would win the battle, but the Lycan wins the war!!

Lots of threads, no time to read them all? Here is today's MouseHunt news, highlights, and gossip! Read on:

SECTION ONE

Your Daylight Saving Time Has Come

THIS JUST IN!
Clocks everywhere in the world went haywire today! (well, okay, not everywhere - mainly in North America, but since North America contains HitGrab HQ and HitGrab HQ contains our beloved game, it really affected most of us...)

So, if you didn't know by now, this is directly the result of Daylight Savings, a phenomenon where our clocks get set forward an hour in the spring and back an hour in the fall, which supposedly gives people more sunlight during their waking hours and keeps them happier. I can attest, though, that where I live, it achieves exactly the opposite, and confuses everyone to boot (although the extra hour of sleep is shweet!).

Yes, we know that MouseHunters really like to know what time it is. We know your clocks don't work that way. But ours do. So... Well, deal with it.

So, yeah. Extra trap check - Check. Moving on...

TICK, TOCK, TICKER:

Hollowhead mice are running rampant, playing tricks and scaring hunters across the Kingdom!
Yes, yes, we know that! Some hunters are already tired of them (witnessed here) while others can't get enough. We don't know just how long they're going to stay (or, heck, they could already be gone by the time this gets published), but if you really, REALLY want a Hollowhead to fill in that silhouette before NEXT YEAR, visit one of the following:

-Town of Gnawnia
-Harbour
-Bazaar
-Great Gnarled Tree <- Unreliable eyewitnesses peg this location as the best!
-Training Grounds
-SS Huntington II
-Cape Clawed

(Yes, it appears that they are spreading - the Town location was unknown to Nibbler staff to contain the pumpkin men until now)
The population of Hollowhead mice is at an all time high! Double your efforts hunters!
As evidenced in this thread, some people are catching a LOT of Hollowheads the last day or two. Some are even catching many in a row, like seen here. Jealous? We didn't think so. Or maybe we did. Aw, heck, whatever.
Ronza has announced that she plans to leave early next week. Visit her shop before she leaves!
Oh noes! Cue the running rampant on the streets! Scream like a chicken with its head cut off! Smash things!

Yes, our favorite on-again, off-again-then-never-seen-for-months-later-so-why-the-heck-do-we-still-put-up-with-her relationship is about to be off again. Ronza will be departing, and the best guess, based on the ticker ("Early next week" seems to indicate sometime before Wednesday, which is hump-day and clearly the middle of the week) and Dave's initial announcement ("at least two weeks" means that the earliest she will leave is Tuesday) is that sometime on Tuesday, dev time (EST, GMT-5), Ronza will hoist up those anchors and fly away, leaving a smattering of Rockstars behind, of course.

So, yes. While we THINK you'll be safe in saving your shopping until sometime late on Monday, you cannot trust our word for it. So if there's a trap that you really, really wanted and you are in a position to get it, don't delay.
(A Nibbler note: Please only smash things with the Hunter's Hammer...)

How Much Rockforth do YOU have?

Spotted recently, intrepid baron Vernon Hsu is hunting with (currently) 711 pieces of Rockforth cheese. Now that's a lot of cheese!

And while he may (or may not) have enough time to claim as many Rockstars as possible while they remain, he sure cleaned up on the FREE cheese!

PS: Collectors, I'm sure you know, but don't use that last piece of Rockforth if you like how it looks in your inventory - you don't know if this cheese will ever get a reissue!

Last-minute Compy Goodness
With Ronza leaving soon and some people still wanting more, more, MORE gold, the Nibbler figured we should highlight a few competitions that could net you some gold, pronto!
Emma Rankmore has been busy with her story competitions lately! The first one is for Novices and Apprentices only, and it's really rockin'! Visit this thread. The second one is for all MouseHunters, and it's much spookier... For that one, see this thread. Both of them end very soon, so hop to it and write an original story for her! Plenty of gold and SB+ is up for grabs in either.

Continuing with the creative theme, some punk with a jack-o-lantern avatar is hosting a Ronza-themed limerick contest, and it's got hefty prizes designed specifically for those searching for a Ronza trap. So if you're friends with that guy from Nantucket, go and scope out the thread, you can see it here.

Help celebrate Danielle Hall's MH birthday by posting in her thread, and she'll award some stinky cheese to a few lucky hunters. Sound good? Then head on down.

Of course, there's always many, many more competitions happening every day. To see them all, just browse through the Events and Competitions board!
Tournament Buzz
Barbara Sosodeva kindly points out (here) that team Juggernauts is the first Hunting Party to surpass the 1 million Party points barrier (and for the tournament uninitiated, that's quite a lot). Congrats, team Juggernauts!

So, just how do you get so many Party points? Well...

  1. Hunt. A lot.
  2. Participate in tournaments. A lot.
  3. Score lots of points in most (preferably all) of those tournaments.
  4. Choose tournaments that offer lots and lots of points. I believe the longer ones are best for this.
  5. Lather, rinse, repeat.
The Nibbler Presents: The Snickerdoodle Brigade!
Don't know what a Snickerdoodle is? Oh noes! Well, to quote Wikipedia:
A snickerdoodle is a type of sugar cookie made with cream of tartar and rolled in cinnamon sugar. [...] Some people mistakenly refer to snickerdoodles as "sugar cookies". The difference between the two comes from the use of cinnamon, which is balanced with cream of tartar to give the cookies their sweet, spicy flavor.
They also happen to be the favorite cookie of MouseHunter and Nibbler editor Michael Hilliard, and why not! They sound delicious, don't they?

Aaaanyways... Upon seeing a recent thread that preached that any advice is good advice, no matter the source, I thought "Yes! Perfect!" But why not take it a little further still? What about those folks that get chastised for posting a question, even before they're given a helping hand in finding the answer? Or the ones that have something that they think is interesting (like a series of successive catches), even if many others have seen things like it before, and get belittled for it?

The Snickerdoodle Brigade is all about bringing a little bit of peace, understanding, and yummy, yummy cookies to the boards. Volunteers are appreciated! Nothing special is needed to sign up, just do the following - If you notice that a thread is getting too flamey, too trollish, too dark or too bland - spice it up with a snickerdoodle by saying:
Whoa, fellow MouseHunters! Relax! Here, have a Snickerdoodle:
http://whatscookingamerica.net/Cookie/Snickerdoodle.htm
It will also help if you tell anyone who asks you why you posted that the truth: you didn't think the conversation was going well and you want to help change it. So give a cookie, and then help the thread along, with an answer, an encouragement, a witty analogy, whatever!

If you have questions about the Brigade or would like to comment on it, please respond in today's comment section or PM Dane Koster.

Quote of the Day
While there's a great many quotes that COULD be chosen from the thread "All Beggars, post here!" there is one in particular that really speaks to me. One that makes me question whether some MouseHunters really do have ESPN... And that's when Alex Cheah said:
here's a cookie!
Thanks, Alex! Here's some for you, too!

So far, so good... And don't forget to sound the horn!

"Chin up Cheese out"
Dream Interpretation with DR RAGS

Anonymouse sent me this dream:

I was on a campsite, with many tents and bizarre looking hangouts around.I was amazedly wandering through the messy arrangements and watching to not trip over lines and stuff.
when an announcement came over the speakers... the voice sounded very familiar... and yes i recognized the voice: being my big mousehunter-friend mr. x.
I was glad he was coming to camp as well... and then he asked for all our special attention. he said: "i am here with a beautiful lady, and i want to ask 'xx': will you marry me?"
Then kind of a mass hysteria broke out, because everybody who had heard broke into an applause or scream of enthusiasm and we never got to hear her answer!
I ran for the camp-entrance or reception of sorts, to go and greet my friend, but all the traps and mousehunters and piles of chees got in the way: teddys appearing before me suddenly, half-eaten Ronza burgers rolling before my feet, rucksacks and satchels curiously got stuck around my legs and i fell....
and fell....

...and woke up :?

- help! -

Dearest Anonymouse ,

Let's explore your dream as this has many different aspects in it.

First we will decipher the dreams messages using an ancient technique discovered by archaeologists while in Tibet. They found this archaic method in a scroll retrieved from the frozen hands of a dead alien monk.

There seems to be clutter prevalent most so lets go there first: This symbolizes the state of your waking life. You need to get your life in order.

The tents seem to represent that there is no settlement in your life where as being IN a tent would mean more along a rut of a sort and desire for change.

Camp on the other hand refers to your social circle and support group. You are looking for a sense of belonging, but at the same time be self-sufficient and independent

Voices: To hear voices in your dream, signifies a message from the unconscious or spiritual realm.

Friend
To see friends in your dream, signifies aspects of your personality that you have rejected, but are ready to incorporate and acknowledge these rejected aspects of yourself. The relationships you have with those around you are important in learning about yourself.

The announcement of your friends engagement to "an unknown" person would appear to Friend signify aspects of your personality that you have rejected, but are ready to incorporate and acknowledge these rejected aspects of yourself. The relationships you have with those around you are important in learning about yourself.

Then end of your dream as falling (followed by falling) which is common and typically causes a jerking action is part of an arousal mechanism that allows the sleeper to awaken and become quickly alert and responsive to possible threats in the environment. Hence, THE END>

But it also signifies an indication of insecurities, instabilities, and anxieties.

THE MSG:

You feel as if the real life state of affairs are in a disarray. Perhaps a feeling of just "spinning your wheels" and you feel that on the inside you are ready to settle down. Perhaps feelings of wanting to get engaged? There is no indication of anyone "special" currently in your life (as the persons name was "censored") but it seems to indicate that you don't feel like your life is able to to "fit" a serious commitment. You want it and feel that you might be ready but there's something blocking you from letting go. Is it stressing you out a little?

I suggest making cocoa with the little tiny marshmallows. I like it that way. Feel free to make yourself some too.

Hope this helps!
Thanks!
As Always, "Chin up, Cheese Out"

Dr. Cox from Scrubs.

Nibbler: If there was just one thing you could tell the entire MH world, what would that one thing be?

Nibbler: Cupcakes or cake?
So long as there's icing, what does it matter?

Nibbler: Finish the statement: I wish more MouseHunters would...?
Commit random acts of kindness - find a newbie and sell them SB+ at 5pp!

Nibbler: Which is your favorite mouse and why?
The Kung Fu Mouse...Same first initial, we both have facial hair...

Nibbler: Do you look forward to changes in the game, or does it mess with your strategy?
Bring on the changes! If I get to 138 and there are no more mice to catch, it'll be exciting for 14.5 minutes...

Nibbler: Do you subscribe to the Nibbler?
Why yes, yes I do.

Nibbler: What is your favorite trap in the game?
The Ambush - it served me well.

Nibbler: What is your favorite season?
Winter in Autumn - nothing better than 2 feet of snow on Halloween! (true story)

Nibbler: What do you like best about MouseHunt?
The fantastic art, not to mention the "storyline" and the way the areas really started to weave together with the release of the Tribal Isles

Nibbler: Who would win in a battle: the Mojo or the Lycan? Why?
The Mojo - none of this "I'm really only at my best when the moon is full" nonsense.

*THE NIBBLER* - Friday, 30 October Edition

Lots of threads, no time to read them all? No doubt! Fair warning: It's a long one, but it should keep you busy until the weekend edition comes out. Here are today's MouseHunt news, highlights, and gossip! Read on:

SECTION ONE

* THIS WEEK IN REVIEW (because it's been a long and busy week):

- Ronza is still here, and there's no obvious sign of her leaving yet. But she's been here nearly two weeks, so really, it can't be long before she departs. Get what you need and get out. Refund your cheddar, marble, swiss, gouda... sell back your old traps if that's what it takes. This is your last chance and you don't want to miss out. The Magma Base will never be back, so get it while it's hot. (Sorry. Couldn't help that one.)

- Rockstar Mice are (obviously) still available. If you still haven't caught one, collect Rockforth cheese by catching Gold, Diamond, and Nibbler Mice at Ronza's. Then use Rockforth cheese as bait in specific locations, which will be outlined below. When you catch a Rockstar, it will drop super-special loot in the form of one of Ronza's Satchels of Surprise, which come in three colors. Here's where to hunt if you want to catch a Rockstar with a certain color satchel:

Red Satchels: Town of Gnawnia, Mountain, and I swear I saw someone get one in the Meadow. That report is unconfirmed, but is burned into this reporter's brain.
Blue Satchels: Great Gnarled Tree, Town of Digby, and the Training Grounds.
Green Satchels: SS Huntington II only. Dave said so himself, and Dave never lies. (Hints, yes. Misleads, perhaps. But lies? Never.)

- You can haz Cheezburger? OF COURSE YOU CAN!!! Ronzabugers (with cheese) can be found as loot in any colour satchel. They have no purpose (see FBF coverage below) but they do look delicious in your inventory. So if you don't have one yet, hurry up and get one! Or wait for later. Either way, it's fine.

- Hollowhead Mice (not Hallowhead) have been released. They can be caught in the following locations: Harbour, Bazaar, Cape Clawed, Great Gnarled Tree, Training Grounds, and SS Huntington II. Possibly other locations, but this reporter is far too lazy to go check them out herself and hasn't seen anything else on the boards. If you have another location to add, please just mention it in the thread below.

If you haven't caught a Hollowhead yet, fear not! They were just recently released, and certain sources (ahem... see FBF coverage below) indicate that their population should increase dramatically on Halloween. That's October 31, Dev Time Only... so about an hour from now, though we sincerely doubt that Dev Franco is hanging out at HGHQ at midnight on a Friday, just to release more Hollowheads. Or wait... he might be after all.
He's dedicated like that.

* ATTENTION APPRENTICES (yes, apprentices only):
Speaking of Hollowheads... they must be eradicated and the Nibbler's own Michael Hilliard has just received this note from the King:
---
Dear loyal hunters,

I am afraid I urgently need your help. The Harbour has become infested with Hollowhead Mice. We both know that an infestation of mice anywhere in my kingdom is quite normal, but these ethereal creatures are frightening. The fishermen who normally fish in the harbour are petrified and have refused to step anywhere near the place.

There is even worse news than that, I am afraid. The many fine dining restaurants that normally serve fish on the menu are no longer able to do so due to the fish shortage caused by the petrified fishermen. The customers have already rioted in Digby, demanding a return of aquatic dishes, and I am afraid it will spread throughout all the regions.

I need your help! Hunt down these Hollowheads. Rid the harbour of their presence. Save my kingdom from the Great Halloween Fish Riots!

Royally,
The King

---
CALLING ALL APPRENTICES!!! Go and join the fight in this thread. All you have to do is add Michael as a friend, hunt in the Harbour, and wait for the bounty to roll in. Win, win, win. Go!

* INSIDERS INSIDE SCOOP into how trapchecks work, in case you missed it in yesterday's Nibbler. Go ahead, go back and look. Can you find it?

Matthew A. Brewster shared this nugget:
"For the hourly trap checks, mice aren't assigned until either the hunter or someone else views the profile to save load on the servers. Once someone (in this case you) views it for the first time, all of the trap checks since the last view are assigned at once. So it assigned the mice based on what the populations are at the time of viewing (now) and not when the trap check supposedly occurred."

So basically, looking at an inactive friend's profile triggers their trapchecks. And when this happens, you might see something like what was described in this thread, where a hunter was seen with a Hollowhead catch on September 21.

http://apps.facebook.com/mousehunt/hunterprofile.php?snuid=1076703756
6:00pm September 21st, 2009
I checked my trap and found that I had caught a mouse! I caught a 3 oz. Hollowhead mouse from the Training Grounds worth 873 points and 903 gold.

The mouse also dropped the following loot:
3 pieces of Super Brie cheese.

And we all know that Hollowheads were just released... um... yesterday? The day before? Well after September 21, for sure. (This reporter has had a very long week. Forgiveness, people.) Sorry to burst the bubbles of anyone looking for a conspiracy, but it's just the way the trapcheck system works. Which isn't quite as cool as being able to catch future mice sometime in the past, but I bet the devs are working on that next.

* WHO'S HOGGING ALL THE ROCKSTARS???
Well, obviously, it's the people in the Official 100 Rockstars Club. Currently, there are 3 public members - Margaret Greenhalgh, Sam Cushing, and David Watson.
Check out the thread to add your congratulations or spit nails at them. Though you should really keep the spitting to yourself... it's unsanitary.

* AND WHO'S HOGGING ALL THE ACOLYTES?
While no hunter can claim 100 Acolytes, Ruben Zuno can claim 17. And let's face it... that's a lot of Acolytes. It's possible that someone else has caught more, but the Nibbler mice seem to have mislaid the link to the thread, so we can't see what people have posted there. If anyone would like to update us, please do... and until then, all hail (or curse, silently) Ruben Zuno!

* And now, the thing you've all been waiting for! It's the Nibbler's very own In-Too-Much-Depth Feedback Friday LIVE Coverage. It was another epic hour-long session, with many twists, turns, and technical difficulties. If you want to watch the "Official" Feedback Friday Feed, here's the the link to the FBF LIVE! stream from Ustream. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/2453728 As far as we know, there's no summary video. We blame the weak coffee at HGHQ.

You know that we here at the Nibbler try to cater to everyone who has an opinion of what we should cover and how, so I'll highlight the "important" bits of Feedback Friday in bold. That way the newshounds can get their news fix by reading the bold bits, and the fluffhounds can get their fix by reading the rest. Without further ado, here it is.

* ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT FEEDBACK FRIDAY:
- At precisely 11:01 Eastern Dev Time, Dev Dave appeared. He then squawked like a parrot, froze himself in time, and disappeared. Repeat X3 due to serious technical difficulties. Apparently the newest HitGrab offices have internet connectivity issues, which cause certain devs named Franco to swear a lot while waiting for pages to load.

- At 11:10, they reappeared and hoped for the best. Dave suggested that if anyone is ever considering DSL internet, "Just don't." 'Nuff said.

- We were treated to devs Dave, Franco, and a very deranged-looking Giorgio, whose beard appeared to have taken over the whole of his head.

- 11:14, and Dave thought perhaps they had a solid enough connection to start recording the live feed. Welcome to Feedback Friday Live!! Dev Joel even stopped in for a snuggle, and suddenly Giorgio showed up, which surprised anyone who thought that the guy in the back with the beard was actually Giorgio. (Seasoned Dev-stalkers knew it was Jacob all along.)

- The HitGrab Horsey is alive and well and being ridden by Liz. We're all glad to know he's being cared for, and by someone comfortable with horses to boot! Thanks, Liz! Give Horsey a savoury vegetable for me, please.

- FBF Question #1... What do hunters think of Ronza's visit this time around? Feedback ranges from "Meh" to "Yeh!" with the occasional "Bleh." Down, Blehggers. Here's the latest scoop on the Ronz...

- Ronza hasn't left yet, but she's nearly done unloading her supplies. It won't be long now, so make your way over to her shop and purchase her wares before it's too late. Please pay attention, because this is not the first or the last time this will be mentioned. Once she's gone, it's for real. And no, nobody knows when she's coming back.

- Joel suggested that if you happen to find yourself dreaming about MouseHunt, then perhaps you should consider upping your medication levels. Dave confessed that he has dreams about MouseHunt. You do the math. Dave then had a Coffee Emergency and left Joel and Franco in charge. Franco was quick to spill the beans about the Hollowhead... the reason it's currently hard to catch is because it isn't quite Halloween yet, but when that day comes around (30 minutes from now) the Hollowhead population will increase dramatically. You heard it here first, now stop stressing.

- Dave finally shared the secret use of the Ronzaburger. And just as the description says, it's for looking delicious in your inventory. There is really no other use for it at this time. If and when it has another use, you'll be able to collect one if you don't already have one. Seriously, people... it's just a burger. (But it's a Ronzaburger. With cheese.)

- Sadly, the mice will not be dressing up in costume as they did last year. Here's a direct quote from this reporters FBF live notes: "They might not be able to dress up the mice... something about swapping images and the way the browser." Apparently this reporter was suffering her own coffee emergency. Or, as Dane noted, "Image caching issues." I think Dane might be closer to the mark, although you have to admit that "the way the browser." is pretty darn classic. You are all SO lucky that you get any news out of us at all.

- For the 93rd time, the update on Tournament tokens is in the works. Ronza is currently busy dropping off supplies for Phase one. According to Dave, in phase one, you will find that you can use tokens to make "this." And then in phase two, you will find that you can ALSO use them to make "this." Much, much later, and probably after the coffee set in, Dave elaborated and explained that the next release will be an Apprentice-level area because it will involve tournaments, which Apprentices can play in. Phase two will unlock a whole bunch of areas that might even go up to Lord/Lady levels. *Disclaimer - all plans are subject to change without notice and for no obvious reason. Please trust that the devs have your hunting interests at heart.*

- Someone asked about the Search function on the FB boards... well, funny story. It used to be there, but it never worked. So there was a bug report about it not working. One day the bug report was "resolved" and the search function was just gone. Brilliant solution... if it doesn't exist, it can't be broken! More excellent work by the FB team. Thanks, guys and gals!

- With all of the brokenness of the boards (which we at the Nibbler ascribe to unsanitary conditions) there has been a lot of talk about moving the MH discussion boards away from Facebook. However, the idea gets less than 50% of the vote so it's not something the devs are doing right now. They're not trashing the idea entirely, but it won't be happening any time soon. So buckle your seatbelts, put on your Very Patient Hats, and learn to live with the random idiosyncrasies of the Facebook discussion boards. It ain't perfect, but it works. Kinda mostly.

- The iPhone app is not a priority right now, so it will not be ready until next year at the earliest. Dave says don't get your hopes up. And while you're at it, quitcherbellyachin!

- And with that, the devs declared that they were done. We blame the weak coffee at HGHQ. That and the 20-minute time limit for posting the video on Facebook. So they stopped the recording but kept on talking, and what they had to say next was really very interesting. Apparently, they've been working on Something Big. Something Really, Really Big. Dave explained, in that undercaffeinated Davelish way, that they have a lot of work to do, but they can't just remodel the house, they need to smash the whole thing and start with a new foundation and go from there. (At least, that's what my notes say.) So while they've been working on current MH stuff, they've also been working on something else, which will make MouseHunt better than ever.

- Franco went out of his way to give us a sneak peek, but it was very difficult to see much (blame the cruddy internet connection). From what we could see, Franco was buying traps and bases and cheese, very very quickly. The Big New Thing will eliminate a lot of page loads, making things much faster while decreasing the load on the servers and downsizing backup time.
We know how you hate spoilers, and we wouldn't want to let you down, so here's a link to a screenshot so you can all not see what we didn't see. Don't say I didn't warn you.

- Things that are in the works for the future include the ability to save trap setups and configurations, and change traps and cheese instantly without reloading pages.
There will probably be trap, base, and cheese tabs on the camp page so you won't have to go to the inventory so often, though the inventory will still be handy for knowing exactly how much of any item you have, and for reading its delicious description again.

- There are no plans for implementing a "backup cheese" scenario, wherein if you run out of cheese your second favorite just pops onto your trap. After all, keeping cheese on your trap is one of the few challenges in the game. Editor's ironic note: at this point I realized that I was, in fact, out of cheese. I might have missed a few things while rushing to craft up some havarti, but it's all good.

- Joel thinks this has been the longest Feedback Friday ever. He must have been absent that other time ;-)

- Going forward, they want to avoid the "delayed gratification updates" where they implement something before it's ready. No matter what they do, they can't live up to our expectations. They notice excess disappointment when we have to wait for something, so they're going to make an effort to keep that from happening in the future.

- What's up with the Shrouded Figures? Apparently, that's what happens when Facebook won't tell MouseHunt who you (the hunter) are. It allows you to continue playing the game when Facebook won't update your info. So it's a good thing, and it's a function that is there to protect you when Facebook wants to let you down. A carrot for Mousehunt and a stick for Facebook. Although apparently, Facebook is now OFFICIALLY working on fixing the problem.

-After another epic hour-long Feedback Friday, everybody has to go. Dave tosses in a snippet about how Ronza always brings high-luck traps with lower point requirements, and that we should never complain because of course new and better traps are always on the way.

Someone give that man a pretzel. With sesame seeds on it. Stat!

So far, so good, and don't forget to sound the horn!

-JCS, who still hasn't carved her pumpkin.

SECTION THREE

SECTION ONE!!!!

HOLLOWHEAD!!!!!

Nibbler Extreme - Now with 20% MORE EXCLAMATION MARKS!!!

So, did you hear about the Hollowhead mouse? OMG, NOWAI! Hunters are, like, totally freaking out about where the pumpkin-dude can be found and how long they have until he bites the dust for another year! And there's no chance they're gonna sit around and wait for next Halloween. So they're arming their gnarliest cheese and hunting in one of the known locations for the bugger: Burroughs – Bazaar Furoma – Training Grounds Whisker Woods – Great Gnarled Tree Rodentia – S.S. Huntington II Tribal Isles – Cape Clawed For more info on the Hollowheads' locations and their prevalence, check out this totally bodacious thread!

Nick .Mac. McElhaney (Liberty High)

Hollowhead Mouse Tracker

Feel free to jump in and help your fellow hunters get theirs.

This marks the second year of the Hollowhead Mouse. Be sure to catch one before they disappear after the Halloween Holiday if you don't want to have to wait until next year. They really aren't that hard to trap so don't stress too much. The Ronzaburger seems to be far more difficult than these little empty headed creatures. Any trap set up should do you fine as long as you don't really try and slack off with say a glue trap and Crunchy Cheese in the Catacombs. Although you never know....

Here's the thread from the Devs with the ACTUAL OFFICIAL release:

Hollowheads Haunt the Kingdom
Posted by A Shrouded Figure on Wednesday, October 28, 2009

(oooo Shrouded Figure...SPOOKY!!!!)
Terror filled screeches have been heard from areas all around the Kingdom... these reports of spooky activity can only mean one thing -- Hollowheads are running rampant!

The King's researchers have noticed the Hollowheads concentrating their haunting efforts on one specific area in almost every region. Spread out and see if you can find where they are hiding.

Hollowhead mice tend to hoard any SUPER|brie+ cheese that they manage to steal. With a little luck you may catch one that was holding on to a piece or two.

Stay alert MouseHunters! Hollowhead mice love to trick traps and make off with your cheesy treats!

Happy Halloween Hunting
!

AND- for those of you who want to be really jelly jealous, check out this log:

6:00pm September 21st, 2009
I checked my trap and found that I had caught a mouse! I caught a 3 oz. Hollowhead mouse from the Training Grounds worth 873 points and 903 gold.

The mouse also dropped the following loot:
3 pieces of Super Brie cheese.

Thanks to Aurum Smiter for letting us know- LINK

I'm sure someone is already typing something like: "The Nibbler is phony! They lie! Impossible! Doug is always WRONG! etc....."ps. suddenly I have multiple mom's n GF's"
Here's a little something from the same thread- Matthew A. Brewster (Seattle, WA) wrote

STILL NEED A RONZABURGER?

I feel for you. As of last night, I personally had none myself and had gone through hundred of the Rockforth. I decided to hunt in the GGT as there were quite a few people that said they had gotten multiples of the burgers there. So, off I went and lo and behold, my burger had come by morning. That's all I got in regards to anything that might help you in your task.

Keep in mind, Ronza should be leaving within a few days, ( we usually get a heads up that she's about to disembark). The Rockstars will be gone shortly after that and then the Hollowheads will disappear after Halloween. So go forth and hunt my little pretties (or reasonable facsimiles thereof.)

PS- DISCLAIMER!!!!! Anything I say can and will be used against me so I hereby discount anything I may have implied, stated, wrote, thought, jumped on, to, from, or under, heard, repeated, mumbled or even was remotely near when someone had something to do with it.

May I have that cherry-flavored?

Here's a contest with a bit of a flavorful twist. Oh, sure, it asks you to think creatively when answering the question, but that's not the end of it. This contest actually gives you a physical prize - a 10,000 Cherry Credits scratch card (worth 150SB+). How cool is that? If you are a winner, Cherry Credits themselves will dispatch the card to your home, anywhere in the world, via the Giant Snail mouse (on an Envelope base).

?otD!!!!!
A long time ago in a ?otD! far, far away, we asked the question: Whelping or Draconic Warden? Well, one is high in points, and the other is high in gold. One is fierce and menacing and holds a big sword, and the other is cute as a button with oversized headgear. So, it really comes down to the sentiment when you catch it. Are you the kind that likes to let out a guttoral "Yeah! Alright!" or the kind that goes "Awww... Cootchy cootchy coo!" We thought so. The Whelping wins with 60%. Today's ?otD! is: Rockstar or Hollowhead? http://www.micropoll.com/akira/mpview/621442-212763

QotD! !! ! !!!

Karen Jensen-Clark (Houston, TX) wroteon October 27, 2008 at 7:07pm
Lots of threads, no time to read them all? Here is today's news highlights and gossip:

* Jennifer Rewers achieved the new rank title of KNIGHT. Many people started threads to congratulate her, along with the normal community dissent whether or not a knight is a better title than a hero. Polling continues.

* More rumors abounded that things were afoot when the mysterious edits to the wiki appeared, disappeared, and then reappeared about the Burroughs River pollution and what that might mean for a new area of aquatic mice.

* Some rude people posted nasty things and their posts\theads disappeared. The MH community polices it's own. Nothing to see, move along. Typos and ZOMG! language threads should best be avoided unless one likes snark.

* Some mice dragged out their Halloween costumes and put them on. Trick or treat takes on a whole new meaning. Jacob announced he has been joined by a second illustrator to help him draw more mice.

* A new special event mouse appeared, just in time for Halloween. Probably will be around about a week at most. Seems catchable in all regions, so everyone has a fair chance.

* A new trap appeared, the Bottomless Grave portal (shadow) trap for use in the Moz, highly priced for sale in Digby at 673,630 gold. Finally, the masses got the stronger portal trap they have been asking for. It is too soon to tell if it is worth the price, but there was a sudden mass sell-off of SB by the SB hoarders as people raced to raise gold to be able to buy it. The SB shortage may be quelled and bring balance to the cheese markets. Now if only the buyers and sellers can keep it in the Cheese and Whine section, others would be happy as the whole forum is not a marketplace.

Overall, it has been a VERY interesting Monday in the Kingdom.

So far, so good... and don't forget to hit the horn!
